Scattered matter information

AI-enabled Legal Practice Management Platform
We built Lawcurgus, a cloud practice management platform that puts case work, time, billing, client money and accounting in one system for small and medium law firms in the United Kingdom.

What stood in the way.
Each matter creates linked records, often kept in four or five separate tools: case notes, Outlook, a shared drive, spreadsheets and an accounts package. People link them by hand, so staff re-key data
Time is lost searching across tools, and deadlines are missed.
Re-keying creates unbillable admin and records that disagree with each other.
Work recorded after the fact is often never charged.
Invoicing is slow and client-money errors creep in when billing and accounts live in different systems.
How we answered it.
We started from the matter, not the module. Lawcurgus makes the client and matter the single operating record, with legal work modules on one side, finance modules on the other, management dashboards above and governance controls underneath.
The parts that made the difference.
Clients can be people or companies with multiple contacts and linked matters. Each case carries its practice area, responsible solicitor, limitation date, budget, billing terms and access settings.
A built-in timer and "Log Activity" on every screen capture work as it happens. Activity codes, rates, VAT and a billable flag give the total instantly.
Invoices are raised per case and linked to the client and matter, with due dates and outstanding balances tracked.
A real chart of accounts keeps office and client money in separate system ledgers, alongside firm operating expenses.
What changed for the client.
Lawcurgus is live with its core modules and designed to deliver six outcomes, each measured against the firm's own baseline. Firms using it say matters, documents and financial activity are easier to find
