Manual assigned risk applications
Applications for assigned risk coverage were processed manually, which was slow and time-consuming for employers, agents and staff.
Insurance workflows, re-engineered.
Modern insurance applications with centralised data, role-based access and automated validations.

What stood in the way.
Before our engagement, MWCIA relied on outdated tools and fragmented systems. Manual data processing slowed insurance operations and increased the effort needed from staff, carriers and agents.
Applications for assigned risk coverage were processed manually, which was slow and time-consuming for employers, agents and staff.
Policy data was managed across separate systems, creating inefficiencies for the member carriers who report policies to MWCIA.
Annual claim financials used for ratemaking were submitted through ACCEDE, a reporting application first developed in the early 2000s.
High licensing costs for multi-user access made it difficult to scale a centralised platform to every carrier, agent and administrator.
How we answered it.
We rebuilt MWCIA's core applications as connected web platforms on ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC and Angular, backed by SQL Server and Oracle. Each platform validates data as it is entered, integrates with MWCIA's processing systems and gives each user group the access it needs.
The parts that made the difference.
Built with ASP.NET Core and Angular, OAR V2 lets employers and agents create, save, validate, update, submit and track workers' compensation applications online.
Member carriers search coverage, errors and policy letters, create and submit electronic policy transactions including cancellations and reinstatements, and replace, rewrite or reissue coverage.
Our rewrite of the legacy ACCEDE platform lets carriers submit all seven annual financial Calls required by Minnesota electronically. A built-in edit package checks that data passes MWCIA's General and Basic edits
Carriers create unit statistical reports and submit replacements, corrections and subsequent reports, with USR data pushed in from CDX and additional files imported directly.
What changed for the client.
MWCIA now runs assigned risk, policy management, annual reporting and unit statistical reporting on connected, validated web platforms. Manual work has fallen sharply, and the data reaching MWCIA is more accurate and compliant.
