Inconsistent planning
Every market built its own templates, so promotion P&Ls were not comparable across countries or even across account managers.
One platform for 27 markets.
RGMInsight gives a global snacking manufacturer one governed platform to plan, fund, approve, execute and evaluate trade promotions across 27 markets, with 580 users and 319,146 promotional events planned since 2022.

What stood in the way.
Before RGMInsight, promotional planning was managed market by market in Excel and other basic tools. There was no shared data model, no common P&L logic and no central view of trade spend.
Every market built its own templates, so promotion P&Ls were not comparable across countries or even across account managers.
Baselines, list prices, trade terms, cost of goods and actuals lived in separate files and were re-keyed by hand.
Approvals ran over email with no audit trail, no delegation and no way to enforce discount limits, budget availability or ROI thresholds.
Post-event evaluation meant manually matching shipments and scan data to promotions. Most events were never evaluated
How we answered it.
RGMInsight is a cloud-based trade promotion management and revenue growth management platform. It brings master data, baselines, promotions, budgets and actuals into one system, enforces planning rules through configurable guardrails and approval workflows
The parts that made the difference.
Planners create promotions at any customer or product hierarchy level with a P&L that recalculates as inputs change. Events can be copied in bulk, by month or across retail environments, and updated together through a multi-event updater.
A configurable approval matrix routes each event by customer, spend level and event type, with delegation, mandatory comments and automatic re-approval when an approved event changes materially. Every action is logged.
Eight checks run at submission, covering budget, maximum discount, overlap, minimum ROI, frequency, maximum spend, negative trade spend and lead time. Each can be disabled, informative or restricted.
Budgets are approved through their own workflow and consumed as events are approved. A dashboard shows committed, available and remaining funds by customer, period and price condition.
What changed for the client.
The client moved from 27 disconnected spreadsheet processes to one governed planning platform, and has used it to plan 319,146 promotions with 580 users across four years.
